The nine laboratories of the Centre for Neuroendocrinology (CNE) are a research-led centre of excellence within the University of Otago.

The CNE is the largest neuroendocrinology cluster in the southern hemisphere and has particular research strengths in understanding the effects of hormones on the brain and the neural regulation of reproduction, body weight, fluid balance and stress.

Members of the CNE are particularly fortunate to have strong collaborative links with many colleagues throughout the neuroendocrine community. Investigations within CNE laboratories utilise a wide range of neuroscience methodologies ranging from molecular biology and transgenics to electrophysiological, morphological, cell imaging and in vivo approaches.
