This Nigerian Petroleum Research Centre (“the centre” or “NPRC”) shall be the primary research organ of the petroleum industry. The centre to be headed by a Director General shall have its head office in Port Harcourt.
The functions of the centre are
1. To carry out research in all areas pertaining to the petroleum industry, but primarily in the areas of exploration and production with emphasis on the development of technology that is appropriate to the needs of Nigeria.
