Animal research is an important, emotive and engaging topic that can enrich subject teaching across the curriculum. In particular it provides an excellent subect for ‘examining the ethical and moral implications of using and applying science', as required by the new key stage 3 programme of study in England, or for exploring the ‘applications and implications of science' at key stage 4.
