Centro Internacional de Hidrología Subterránea (FCIHS) is a non-profit university institution created as the result of the advancement of the "Curso Internacional de Hidrología Subterránea (CIHS)".
The International Groundwater Hydrology Course (CIHS), created in the year 1967, is the oldest ongoing postgraduate course within the Spanish university community. Throughout its 44 years of existence, 1139 participants have been trained: 767 are Spanish and 372 come from another 40 countries, mostly from Latin America, which has turned CIHS into a reference point for professionals within the Spanish-speaking world. During this period, 327 teachers from 20 countries have collaborated with the CIHS, and 553 hydrogeological studies have been carried out, most of them distributed within the Catalan aquifer bodies together with some others in the rest of Spain and abroad.
On the 1st of October 2010, the 10th Edition of the CIHS Distance-Learning Version wil begin (October, 2010 - September, 2012).
