The Brain Research Centre is an independent research facility whose organizational structure maximizes the potential for significant discoveries and development of effective new therapies. The Centre employs a strongly multidisciplinary approach, combined with a scientific philosophy of cooperation and collaboration among the researchers, physicians, and technicians who are exploring common origins and overlapping features of neurological and psychiatric disorders. Under the direction of Dr. Max Cynader, one of North America's leading authorities on mechanisms of the brain, clinical and basic scientists work side by side in an atmosphere of intellectual exchange to create an optimal research setting in which the "bench to bedside" principle can be allowed to reach its full potential, and effectively bridge the gap between basic sciences and their clinical applications.
